The mission at Schragen Chiropractic, Advanced Rehabilitation Center, is to provide world-class chiropractic therapy and sports medicine to every patient who walks through the door. This begins with your initial visit. Dr. Schragen will examine and evaluate your individual problem. He will then put together a treatment plan consisting of chiropractic manipulation, physical therapy, and functional training. You will be instructed on home exercises and general lifestyle changes to assist in the therapeutic process, as well as improve your everyday quality of life.
Dr. Schragen believes in partnering with patients, sharing information, and exhausting all conservative treatment options and non-invasive procedures before referring out. As a result, many patients who were unable to find relief from individual therapy respond very favorably to the combination of therapies and techniques utilized by Dr. Schragen. |

The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. The brain and spinal cord are protected by the skull and spine. The spine is made up of 26 interlocking bones called vertebrae. In between each vertebra is a disc. The disc acts to absorb compressive forces on the spine. There are also 31 pairs of nerves, which exit through foramen (holes) where the vertebrae articulate with each other. These nerves are responsible for every function in your body from movement to sensation.
The musculoskeletal system of the spine consists of seven layers of muscle. Along with ligaments, which attach bone to bone and tendons, which attach, muscle to bone. There are also muscles that move your hips and shoulders, which attach to the spine. If you have any imbalance or asymmetry in this system your gait will suffer and this will lead to poor performance and injury. |
